MCCA Mission
The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority's mission is to generate significant regional economic activity by attracting conventions, tradeshows, and other events to its world-class facilities while maximizing the investment return for the residents and businesses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Building a New State of Growth
From east to west, the MCCA is helping Massachusetts build a new future for convention business. The new Boston Convention & Exhibition Center is at the center of major infrastructure and transportation improvements to the city of Boston, and represents a new era for the city as a premier convention venue. In the western part of the state, the Springfield Civic Center is undergoing a $71 million renovation into an expanded arena and convention center that will be renamed the MassMutual Center.
Building a Blueprint of Community Partnerships
The MCCA values our community relationships and our commitment to proactively support the communities we work in, either through monetary contributions or strategic partnerships. Among the MCCA's community initiatives are the South Boston Community Development Foundation created for the benefit of South Boston residential, charitable and business communities; local opportunity conferences to educate local businesses about sales opportunities with convention and meeting planners; and a grassroots program designed to get high school students directly involved in MCCA's projects.
